Our oldest turned 4 recently on November 28th, and I am finally updating the blog in his honor. John Paul got to celebrate the big day with a small party at home and a dinosaur cake that was a huge hit all the way around. In the past year, our little guy has really turned into a little kid with his own preferences, ideas, and opinions, and he is not easily influenced by others. He is orderly and particular, and he likes to think things through before he tries them (hmm . . . sounds like Pops). His heart is tender and sweet, and he often thinks of others before he thinks of himself, sometimes even his 2 1/2 year old sister Alayna. He is a 100% rough and tumble little boy made of dirt and mud and puppy dog tails. His current favorites are dinosaurs, basketball, monster trucks, guns, and cars. And, if you ask him what his favorite color is, he starts listing blue and red, and . . .(usually black or some other appropriately boy color). Adam is still his hero, and he loves his "guy" time often declaring a boy's day. He explores how things work with Pops, golfs with Papa, and rough houses with his uncles. Alayna is his best friend, and he takes such good care of Kristen. I love to see how much little boys love babies! We are really enjoying watching our little guy grow up. We love you John Paul, whose namesake just became venerable by the way.

Happy LATE LATE birthday John Paul!
